Glossary of Terms

929 boyyyz <3– n– (1) Harrison and myself, dwellers of 929; (2) the general concentration of bros surrounding 9f common; orig. Harrison and I, during the early days of the fall semester, 2011, decided to inscribe "Greetings from da 929 boyyyz <3" upon each and every whiteboard, for the lulz.

9f– n– 9th floor

9f common– n– 9th floor common room

hack– n– the gamepiece used in the sport of hacking; syn. sack, hackysack; see: hack (v)

hack– v– to participate in the sport of hacking; Hacking is when you take a hackysack, and you try to keep it in the air with as many hits as possible, but without touching it with hands. Also no self-serves. As awesome as frisbee and hockey are, hacking really is the best sport to play AND the best sport to watch. Though it's also the hardest sport to watch because watching generally leads to joining the game; syn. hack it up, participate in a hack circle

Heyman Hat– n– "Hey, man!" became Evan's catch phrase when Dirk, wearing said hat, was challenged to impersonate Evan. At the time, "Hey, man!" was not a catch phrase associated with him, but that's all Dirk could think of after 11 hours of bus riding.

hoagie– n– the proper name for the object to which less educated groups refer as "submarine sandwich", "sub", "grinder", etc.

Mario Kart– n– (1) the most frustrating thing in the known universe; (2) an incredibly enjoyable game

rageous– adj– awesome, insane, raging, rage-inducing, exhilarating, cool; der. rageonic (old English)

Rageous Band– n– the most rageous music playing group in all the land, so named because  "pep band" didn't sound awesome; see: rageous (adj)

Saturn Vixen– n– alternate name for my family's 1998 Saturn SL-1, inspired by an episode of Top Gear

Sriracha– n– (1) saucy delight of the spicy variety; (2) seriously, you should try it; (3) order some online if it's not in your local supermarket; (4) but really

walking shade– n– someone who is in a state of sleeping and waking flux due to a prolonged lack of either

Wawa– n– provider of hoagies, half-gallon iced teas, coffee, iced coffee, breakfast sandwiches, donuts, snacks, dessert, happiness
